Great Family Exercises

Family exercises are much more fun when everybody is enjoying and benefiting on it. Being healthy and fit should be a family affair, every member of the family is entitled to live a healthy life. But sad to say that most of our children these days are so hooked with indoor activities such as playing video games, watching television and surfing the net. It will take almost all of your effort and all of your patience to tell them to stop. So what would you do in this kind of scenario? You don’t have to do something very dramatic to get them to stop what they’re doing. What you have to do, this is by far the best and most effective solution there is for this kind of scenario; turn off all electrical devices and unplug them all from your children’s brain and nervous system. If you think you can handle that, let go to the next step.

If you want the members of your family to engage in some healthy exercises which will be good to them, you have to be the first example. Setting a good example to your kids will show them that they don’t have to do this exercising thing because they are kids and because you say so. Family exercises can be done in several ways. You can go outside with your kids, play and run around with them on your yard or in the park instead of the usual thing you always do which is ordering them to go and play outside. The whole family can go bike riding or enjoy a walk in the park and you can do this as often as possible as long as your schedules will allow it. Family exercises should be fun and very, very entertaining. Find ways to improvise and think of exercises that can be done by both sexes in the family.

You can also involve your kids to a lot of sports, they don’t necessarily need to specialize with only one. Play badminton, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball and soccer. Involvement in sports is a good way for your kids to stay in shape, it can also build up their confidence and learn to make a lot of new friends. But you have to remember that involving your kids into sports doesn’t need to be forced by you. You cannot just tell them to play a sport right there and then. They will need a lot of exposure to different kind of sports which in time they will find out what interest them the most. Both boys and girls need as much play as they can get. Even pre-schoolers and little children needs exercise too. Try not to distinguish the games. Show them that any game can be played by both girls and boys.
Making exercise a family affair will not only bring good heath to your family but this will also bring you family closer together. Through family exercises the bond that holds your family together will be much stronger as the years will come.
