Muscle Strength and Development

Muscle strength and development can’t be achieved by everybody. There are a lot factors that affects its growth. You’ll be wondering why you’re not developing the same muscles as your friend whom you go to the gym and do all the exercises and strength training with. Every individual is made up of, let say different qualities of muscles. Now you ask me, what is a muscle by the way?

Our body is made up of 650 muscles which are made up of red, white and intermediate muscle fibers. These muscles are connected to the bones through the tendons. There are three types, smooth muscles, skeletal muscles and cardiac muscles. Smooth muscles are involuntary muscles which can be found in our internal organs like in the blood vessels, bladder, in the uterus, airways and digestive system. These muscles can stretch and endure a lot of pressure for a period of time. Skeletal muscles are voluntary muscles; these are the ones responsible for the movement of your bones. The last type of muscle which is the cardiac muscles which is also called the twitch muscle is only found in your heart. Like the smooth muscle, it is also involuntary and stretchable within certain limits. Muscle strength will depend on the individual’s health and the well being of o his body. Even if your body is bulking with big muscles it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have great muscle strength. There are a lot of factors that affects the development of muscle strength.

Age is a big factor for muscle strength and development. This factor is already beyond human control, but there are studies saying that age will not matter if you want to maximize the size and strength of your muscles as long as it is done safely through effective strength training exercises. But the strength and muscle build-up proved to be greater for the age of 10 to 20, which is acceptable for in this years growth and development happens very quickly. When people reach a certain age of physical maturity, muscular strength and development usually comes gradually.

The quantity of our muscle is greatly affected by our gender but not its quality. In general men have more muscles than woman. The reason for that is the presence of testosterone in the sex hormone of the male species which helps increase their muscle size. This is one of the reasons why men are much stronger but still arguable, than most women.

There are still a lot of affecting factors for the strength and development of our muscular system such as, type of muscle fiber, the tendon’s point of insertion, limb and muscle length. Another important factor is muscle exercises. A lot of exercises regimens include strength trainings which can be pure done for muscle build-up and development. To achieve good results it is very crucial to control lifting movement very slowly to the point of reaching muscle fatigue. It is also very important to give your muscles proper resting time between training and exercise sessions. Muscle strength and development is not only for the well-abled and healthy people, whatever disposition you may have in your life, it’s not an excuse.
